First, we complete an intake evaluation of your parent in their home environment, whether that is at a residence, active senior community or nursing facility. This gives us an idea of what your mother’s or father’s needs are. For example, do they:
- Need medication reminders and help with planning and preparing their meals, or do they require assistance with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing or walking?
- Like people who will sit and talk to them or would they prefer their solitude?
- Want someone who has a similar interest or hobby?
- Speak English or are they more at ease speaking another language?

Our caregivers can help with everything from transportation to doctor’s visits or going on errands to hygiene care, light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning and preparation, companionship, and respite care.
We hire knowledgeable caregivers (yes, they are our employees) who are warm, dedicated and socially engaged. They receive training which prepares them to work specifically with your loved one.
We can’t cover every language or dialect, but if patients are English-speaking or their first language is Spanish or Tagalong, which includes the vast majority of our clients, we assign caregivers with those language skills. All this is done through our assessment process.
Once that has been completed, we assign a part-time, full-time or 24-hour live-in home caregiver to be with your parent and to help them in any way that is needed.
Our hardworking caregivers are always available to update family members on their loved one’s condition and report any issues that arise to you and our agency. If for some reason they cannot be at your parent’s home at the scheduled time, or fall ill, we have a system in place that alerts us so we can have another caregiver fill in for them on that day.
Also important to note is that our responsible caregivers are vetted, insured and bonded so that if anything occurs while they are at your parent’s place of residence, it is not your liability; it is ours. We do this for several reasons, but the main one is to remove another task from the long list of things you do for your parents.
