The importance of our homecare givers and the void they fill in so many lives was recently brought home after having a meeting with Lynn and her mother, Evelyn, who is in her early 80s. In just the last two years Evelyn has lost two close friends and a sister. Her heartache is intense; you can see the sadness in her eyes. Lynn, her daughter, is concerned that her mother’s depression over these deaths of loved ones will end her life sooner. They came to speak to me about getting a caregiver who could also act as a companion for Evelyn. It puts her mind at ease and allows her to spend more quality time with Evelyn.
